It was a great short story about such an accomplished military man of our nation. It was a good overview without too much detail to get lost in. It was quite unbiased and gave a realistic view of a great man. I think it showed his weaknesses as a politician President, but I think he was too good and honest basically to be able to be a great politician. Acceptable.
This book was great. I picked it up while visiting Galena, IL and visiting his house as I wanted to learn more about him. Was a great insight.
I found this to be a very good book and one I would recommend to a friend without hesitation. Straightfoward.
Nicely written, pretty thorough story so far of Grant's life.
This is a must read for the Civil War buff who is interested in detail description of a General that turned the tide of war for the Federals.
Good book although a bit dry, as one would expect from this time period.
This is not a 1000 page book all about his life. This is a short overview of the life of a great general and a president ( about 155 pages) However this is a well written book that is easy to read.
